This is a bit awkward... it's been 6 months since my last Monthly 5 post. Oops! During COVID anything goes, right? Right. The most important thing is that I'm back!
My sister got the Pura for me over the holidays and I have been loving it! It's like the Wallflower from Bath & Body Works but better (don't fight me on this one.) If we're comparing the two, the Pura is a bit more pricey. In my opinion, however, worth it. First off, it's a smart device. Brining guests over on a whim? No problem, turn on your device remotely and have your house smelling fantastic by the time you all arrive! Want a night light? Your device has an LED light that you can change to any color you want! Want fragrances you already know and love? Pura's scents are well known brands like Capri Blue and Nest. Okay Liv, enough.
Has everyone picked up way more books this past year than they thought they would? I should be putting my kindle on this list, but I feel like it's too obvious of a must-have. Instead, let me tell you about my girl Colleen Hoover. Siri, add the heart eyes emoji! I've definitely become a book lover over the past few years and Hoover has been the reason why. When I say she's a young adult contemporary romance author, don't let that scare you off.. she is so much more than that! I am a sucker for a good romance book, but Hoover has a way of captivating you like you wouldn't believe. I will put a slight Trigger Warning for her as she has a tendency to write around some heavy stuff. My favorites have been It Ends With Us (Abuse TW), November 9, and the Hopeless series (multiple TW.) All beautifully gut wrenching in their own way.
For home decor this month, I've been obsessed with these candle holders made by, well, me. They are made out of clay and can be any trio of colors. I made an Etsy account which I have linked so you can see more photos. They're such a cute addition to any table or shelf! I've been making them for friends and family and have now sold some on Etsy and I've been really enjoying it! They can truly be any style. As you see below, the left trio is a bit more boho and the right trio I made more on the modern side.
Recently I've been back into working out and it feels great! I am not the most motivated person when it comes to working out, but Peloton has really helped me stay persistent. I don't have the spin bike, and truthfully, I wasn't a huge fan of their cycling classes. It was when I discovered their strength classes that I really became interested. What I like about the strength classes is that they are completely buildable. They offer a variety of core, upper body, lower body, specific muscle focus, stretching, yoga, pilates, and a lot more. The best part though, is that they are offered in different time intervals. I usually will build my own 30-40 minute work out with say a 15 minute core, 5 min arm, and 10 glutes and legs. You can go at your own pace and modify as needed. I sound like I am selling their subscription, but really I have just seen such a difference in my motivation since being introduced to Peloton! BTW, I really love Selena Samuela and Becs Gentry.
Alright last but not least, I want to touch on Canva. I have been using their website for my Real Estate Instagram account they make it SO easy to design your own campaigns, posts, etc. I feel like I am actually late to the game on this website, and this could be a "DUH!" moment for others, but it's been so fun and helpful for my social media! They have templates, icons, fonts, photos, and a lot of other features and you can make what you want for (mostly) free. They have some "pro" options that you have to buy, but I never have and have managed just fine! Some of the things that I have made with it are below. Super user friendly!
That wraps up this month - I hope you found something intriguing in here!
See you next month,
Liv
